Mumbai, Nov 6: India’s cricket team has announced its squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa. The matches will begin on November 14 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata and in Guwahati on November 22.Rishabh Pant, who was injured earlier this year, has made a significant return as the vice-captain of the team.Pant proved his fitness by performing well in recent India A matches, including a key 90-run innings.
This series marks his comeback to international cricket after recovering from his foot fracture sustained during the England tour in July.The team captain is Shubman Gill, who has been leading the team effectively.
Alongside him, experienced players like Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Siraj are in the squad. Young talents such as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel are also part of this essential series.
South Africa’s team will be led by Temba Bavuma, who has recovered from a calf injury.
The first Test will be played in Kolkata from November 14, followed by the second in Guwahati from November 22.
