Indian security forces carried out a successful anti-terror operation in the Keran sector of Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir, thwarting an attempted infiltration by terrorists.
The operation, codenamed āOperation Pimple,ā commenced on the night of Friday, following specific intelligence inputs about a potential infiltration.
Alert troops detected suspicious movement in the area and challenged the infiltrators, who responded by opening indiscriminate fire. The security forces retaliated, resulting in two terrorists being neutralized. The operation is ongoing, with search and combing activities underway to recover arms and ammunition and ensure the areaās security.
This action highlights the Indian Armyās vigilance and readiness along the Line of Control, particularly before the onset of harsh winter conditions which traditionally see increased infiltration attempts.
The joint effort by the Army and Border Security Force continues to maintain high alert levels to curb militant activities in the region.
