In a recent political event held in Nellai, former AIADMK minister Rajendra Balaji declared that Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the AIADMK General Secretary, is open to holding alliance talks with Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) if the latter expresses willingness.Balaji emphasized that the political leadership within AIADMK desires to form the government again in the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections and views alliance-building as a crucial part of this effort.
He highlighted that the AIADMK, in coalition with the BJP and like-minded parties, is committed to protecting India and serving the country faithfully.
According to Balaji, decisions on alliances will be made by Palaniswami, who leads the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Tamil Nadu, and the party aims to defeat the ruling DMK government.
Balaji underscored AIADMK’s intent to unite all parties opposed to the current DMK regime, stating that the public has already expressed their desire to remove the DMK from power.
He further welcomed the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, which aims to eliminate duplicate and bogus voters, a move endorsed by Palaniswami.
Despite media speculations about an AIADMK-TVK alliance, Balaji insisted that any formal discussions will depend on TVK’s interest in negotiations.
The statement signals a strategic openness from AIADMK, although TVK’s stand on the alliance remains cautious.
