Indo- German Chamber signs MoU

The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) marked a major milestone at its 59th Annual Regional meet with the signing of significant agreements aimed at enhancing Indo-German collaboration in industrial development, skill enhancement, and MSME advancement. The event featured two key highlights–the formal Exchange of a Letter of Intent between IGCC and the Andhra Pradesh MSME Development Corporation, and the MOU signing between the Gedee Technical Training Institute (GTTI), the Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ), and the Section 8 Company with shareholders from the members of IGCC and the German Business Group, Chennai, for the support and establishment of a dedicated Skill Development Centre at MEPZ, Tambaram, Chennai. The Exchange of the Letter of Intent between IGCC and the Andhra Pradesh MSME Development Corporation reinforced the commitment to strengthen the MSME sector in Andhra Pradesh. Present at the exchange were Kondapalli Srinivas, Andhra Pradesh Minister for MSME, Vishwa Manoharan, CEO, AP MSME Development Corporation; and Ranjit Pratap, Chairman, Southern Region Council, IGCC. The collaboration seeks to open pathways for German expertise, technology transfer, and high-standard industrial practices to benefit MSMEs across the state of Andhra Pradesh. The partnership between IGCC and the Andhra Pradesh MSME Development Corporation will promote the entry and expansion of German industries across manufacturing and trade sectors in the state. This collaboration will further support the introduction of German curriculum–based technical training and facilitate the establishment of world-class technical training centres in Andhra Pradesh to boost industrial skill capabilities, a release from IGCC said. The MoU between GTTI, MEPZ, marks a transformative step toward setting up the Skill Development Centre, envisioned as a premier institution delivering German-standard industrial training at MEPZ, Tambaram, Chennai. This initiative will enable advanced workforce development while strengthening Indo-German cooperation in vocational education. The signing ceremony was attended by Michael Hasper, Consul General of Germany in Chennai; Ranjit Pratap, Chairman, Southern Region Council, IGCC; VG Sakthikumar, Chairman and Managing Director, Schwing Stetter (India) Pvt. Ltd.; Seetharaman, Executive Chairman, Super Auto Forge (P) Ltd.; Alex Paul Menon, Zonal Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone covering Tamil Nadu, Andaman & Puducherry (TAP) Region; G D Rajkumar, Managing Director, GTTI. The Skill Development Centre at MEPZ, is poised to play a transformative role at a time when industries are increasingly dependent on high-precision engineering talent. Phase-1 will deliver focused, shopfloor-ready training in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machining and Digital Manufacturing Tools, while Phase – 2 will offer deep specialisation aligned with international certification standards. Through this partnership, the initiative aims to equip Tamil Nadu’s youth for advanced roles both within the state and for globally recognised and respected career opportunities. Speaking during the Annual Regional Meet, Ranjit Pratap, Chairman, Southern Region Council, IGCC, said, “IndoGerman trade and manufacturing in India are booming.
