Kamal Haasan expressed deep condolences on the passing of veteran Tamil film producer AVM Saravanan, who died on December 3, 2025, at age 86 due to age-related ailments.In a heartfelt video message, the actor described their bond as brotherly, calling himself “a small sapling that grew under the great banyan tree of AVM”.
Kamal shared that Saravanan nurtured his early career alongside Rajinikanth’s, crediting AVM Studios for shaping modern Tamil cinema through landmark films like Sivaji, Minsara Kanavu, and Samsaram Adhu Minsaram.
He extended sympathies to Saravanan’s son M.S. Kugan, emphasizing shared grief and honoring the legacy of A.V. Meiyappan’s son who led AVM since 1958.
