Party hopper and noted Dravidian orator Nanjil Sampath has joined Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in the presence of the party president actor Vijay at Panaiyur on Friday, after his stints with MDMK and AIADMK, remaining a supporter of DMK for some time.
Speaking to reporters after joining TVK, Sampath said Vijay greeted him, saying, “I am your fan,” a moment he described as electrifying.
He recounted a series of alleged humiliations he faced after publicly calling the Supreme Court’s CBI probe order in the Karur tragedy a victory for TVK. He claimed he was mocked for making such a remark. Many of my scheduled events were cancelled, he said, as he was at that time delivering talks at DMK’s meetings too. He took part in Deputy Chief Minister and DMK leader Udhayanidhi’s birthday public meeting as recently as November 29. After joining TVK on Friday, Nanjil Sampath claimed that he received death threats after speaking in favour of Vijay during a television debate.
