Beirut, Dec 6: Major General Roman Gofman was on Thursday appointed as the new head of the Mossad by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who selected him after interviewing several candidates for the crucial intelligence post. According to media reports, Netanyahu chose Maj. Gen. Gofman to lead the Mossadās intelligence and special operations, entrusting him with one of Israelās most sensitive and strategically important roles. Gofman, who currently serves as the military secretary to the Israeli Prime Minister, will succeed Mossad Director David Barnea, whose term concludes in June 2026.
