The Election Commission of India reported that 98.23% of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) forms in Tamil Nadu—totaling 6.29 crore out of 6.40 crore distributed—have been successfully collected and uploaded online as of December 6.
From a voter base of 6.41 crore, 99.81% or 6.40 crore forms were distributed across 68,470 polling stations since November 4, with the drive ending December 11. This high digitization rate ensures accurate electoral rolls for upcoming elections
68,470 booth-level officers managed the process statewide, covering Tamil Nadu alongside 11 other states like Bihar, Kerala, and West Bengal preparing for polls. The SIR initiative verifies voter details, adds omissions, and deletes duplicates via Form 6, reflecting ECI’s push for digital transparency through the Voters’ Services Portal.
In Puducherry, 99.93% of forms (10.21 lakh out of 10.22 lakh for 10.22 lakh voters) were distributed, with 99.05% or 10.12 lakh digitized online.
