This film is a heartfelt tribute to friendship, tradition, and perseverance, told through the powerful rhythm of the Parai. At its centre are Vetri and Ezhil, two close friends who run a Parai troupe with deep passion. Their goal goes beyond performance—they want to restore pride and dignity to an ancient art form rooted in history and culture. As they chase this dream, they face social resistance, rivalry, and personal setbacks that test both their bond and their belief in their art.
The emotional core of the film is strengthened by Vetri’s relationship with his wife. Their understated and affectionate romance adds warmth to the narrative and provides emotional balance to the larger conflicts. These intimate moments remind us how personal relationships often become anchors during difficult journeys, lending the story a relatable human touch.
One of the film’s strongest aspects is its authentic portrayal of the Parai. The music, rituals, and performances are showcased with respect and intensity, allowing the audience to feel the raw energy of the instrument. Performances across the board are sincere. Gayatri Rema stands out with her natural screen presence and expressive acting, especially in the latter half. Aaryan and Leo Sivakumar convincingly portray the lead duo, capturing both friendship and struggle with ease.
Though the screenplay occasionally treads familiar ground, the film’s honesty and emotional depth elevate it. Its socially conscious message and bold focus on a traditional art form make it a meaningful and uplifting watch—one that resonates beyond entertainment and leaves a lasting impression.
