Tamil Nadu BJP state president Nainar Nagendran has clarified that no decision has been taken yet on seat sharing or alliance arrangements for the upcoming state assembly elections. Speaking to reporters, he said discussions with any political party regarding electoral alliances have not yet begun, and that there is no finalised list of constituencies where the BJP will contest.Nagendran described his recent meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah as being purely on courtesy and not focused on seat allocation or alliance strategy. He reiterated that while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) aims to secure victory in Tamil Nadu, formal talks on seat distribution are still pending.
He also expressed confidence that the NDA would succeed in the state regardless of how many parties contest, and hinted that national leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Amit Shah might attend future campaign events.
With the 2026 assembly elections approaching, political parties across Tamil Nadu are intensifying preparations, but concrete decisions on alliances and constituency allocations have yet to be made.
