A public meeting of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) led by actor-turned-politician Vijay is scheduled IN Erode with police imposing strict restrictions on the event. The meeting will be held at an HR&CE-controlled venue near the Vijayamangalam toll plaza, which has a seating capacity of about 25,000 people.TVK has released a press release for volunteers and supporters, urging them to follow all security and safety guidelines issued in coordination with the police.
The statement instructs volunteers and participants to strictly adhere to safety norms, including regulated entry to designated boxes with limited capacity, no permission for pregnant women, elderly, children or people with health issues to enter, and avoidance of actions that could obstruct traffic or create hazard. Fireworks and similar welcome events are banned, and vehicles must be parked only in authorized areas.
Heightened safety measures come in the backdrop of the September stampede at a TVK meeting in Karur, in which 42 people lost their lives, prompting authorities to enforce stringent crowd control protocols.
