Chief Minister MK Stalin will embark on a two-day tour of Tirunelveli district on December 20-21, inaugurating projects worth Rs 639 crore to boost infrastructure and welfare.
The visit includes key events like a Christmas celebration and the launch of a new museum and hospital facility.
Stalin arrives from Chennai via Tuticorin airport on December 20 afternoon, receiving a grand welcome at the district border by DMK leaders including Minister KN Nehru. He joins the Christmas event at Thakkarammalpuram before resting at the Vannaarpettai guest house.
On December 21, he inaugurates the Rs 62 crore Porunai Museum in Rettiaarpatti and a Rs 72.10 crore advanced surgery building at Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital.
At the college ground event, Stalin distributes welfare aid worth Rs 100.95 crore to 44,924 beneficiaries, launches 31 completed projects valued at Rs 181.89 crore, and lays foundation stones for 11 new initiatives costing Rs 356.59 crore.
New government bus routes and free scooters for differently-abled persons feature prominently. Preparations, overseen by Speaker Appavu and Collector Sugumar, include a massive pandal at the venue.
Minister KN Nehru inspected the museum and Christmas venue at Darisanapoomi grounds, emphasizing the tour’s developmental impact.
