Actor-turned-politician Vijay, founder and president of the political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), emphasised that his party is firmly committed to preserving social harmony, unity and peace across all communities in Tamil Nadu. Vijay made these remarks while addressing a gathering of party workers and supporters during Christmas celebrations, underlining that TVK’s political mission goes beyond electoral ambitions and focuses on fostering solidarity among diverse groups.
Vijay stated that TVK intends to build a peaceful and inclusive social environment where people — regardless of caste, religion, language or region — feel equally respected and represented. He maintained that unity among the people of Tamil Nadu is essential for the welfare of the state and the progress of its social fabric. He also affirmed that the party seeks to protect communal harmony even as it advances democratic politics and addresses the aspirations of the people.
The TVK chief stressed that maintaining harmony is not merely a slogan but a core principle of the party’s ideology, which guides its political activities and outreach. He reiterated the importance of respecting linguistic identity and cultural traditions while ensuring that differences are bridged through dialogue, cooperation, and mutual understanding.
