Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has directed officials to organise a statewide art festival celebrating traditional culture and performing arts across all districts, similar to the annual Chennai Sangamam – Namma Ooru Thiruvizha.
The order aims to promote the rich cultural heritage of the state by holding folk art events, music and dance performances in every corner of Tamil Nadu. Officials have been instructed to plan and execute the festival at district levels with participation from skilled artists representing various traditional art forms.
The announcement follows the success of the Chennai Sangamam celebrations, where more than 1,500 artists showcased over 50 folk art forms, drawing large crowds and widespread appreciation.
Preparations are expected to include performances, food festivals and local craft displays, providing platforms for artists and boosting community engagement throughout the state during the upcoming cultural season.
