With the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approaching, DMK MP Kanimozhi has said the party’s election manifesto will be shaped to reflect the aspirations and expectations of the people of the state.
Kanimozhi, who is heading the DMK’s manifesto preparation committee, emphasised that public consultations across all sections of society will guide the document.
The manifesto is being drafted with a focus on key issues including job creation, women’s welfare, farmers’ concerns, environmental protection and the rights of Tamil Nadu, Kanimozhi said after the committee’s first meeting in Chennai. The group plans to tour the state, engaging with diverse communities to gather suggestions and ensure the manifesto aligns with ground realities.
Kanimozhi also briefed Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on the discussions and noted that feedback from citizens will be central to the final manifesto, which is expected to address economic growth, social justice and infrastructure development.
