Popular Tamil music composer Sam C.S., who has carved a strong place in the hearts of young audiences through his powerful and energetic scores, is now making waves in the spiritual space as well. Known for blending intense music with emotion, he has increasingly attracted fans who love devotional themes in cinema.

The composer’s work in Bagasuran earned widespread appreciation, particularly the devotional track “Ennappan Allava,” which became a massive hit among Shiva devotees. His music for the Hindi film Narasimha also captivated audiences, earning praise from Vaishnavite followers, while the film reportedly grossed over ₹500 crore worldwide.

Sam C.S. has now turned his focus towards Lord Ayyappa. He has written, composed, and sung a new devotional song dedicated to Ayyappa, which will soon be released by Saregama. The composer believes the song will soon become a favorite among Ayyappa devotees during the Sabarimala pilgrimage.

Despite being a Christian by faith, Sam C.S. says he deeply respects all religions and believes music is a universal bridge across cultures. Reflecting this belief, he has also composed music for a film titled Honey Bee, which portrays Islamic cultural life, and its songs are already generating attention even before release.

Currently, Sam is busy working across multiple industries, composing for Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi films. He revealed that nearly ten projects are lined up, with four of them in Bollywood alone. Among his upcoming Tamil releases is “Red Taḷa,” directed by Krish Thirukumaran and starring Arun Vijay in a double role. Releasing on December 25, the film features intense live-recorded music with multiple instruments, something Sam says will stand out after the film’s release.

Speaking about the changing landscape of music listening habits, Sam expressed concern over AI-driven recommendations dominating audiences’ choices, reducing organic music discovery. Despite the workload pressure, he says he enjoys the challenge and continues to support filmmakers with limited budgets, often without insisting strictly on remuneration.

With his commitment to versatility and devotion to the craft, Sam C.S. continues to remain one of Indian cinema’s most sought-after composers, seamlessly blending commercial energy with spiritual depth.
