India is gearing up for a major space milestone as ISRO’s LVM3-M6 rocket prepares to launch on December 24, carrying 72 satellites into space. The mission follows the successful LVM3-M5/CMS-03 launch on November 2, 2025.
In this upcoming mission, the LVM3 will place the BlueBird Block-2 communications satellite into Low Earth Orbit (LEO). This satellite is the largest commercial communications payload to be deployed in LEO and also the heaviest payload ever launched from Indian soil.
The BlueBird Block-2 series represents a next-generation communication system designed to provide space-based cellular broadband connectivity directly to standard mobile smartphones, enhancing global communication capability.
With this mission, India further strengthens its growing reputation in the global commercial satellite launch market.
