Palladam, Dec 30: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin reaffirmed that the proposed Dravidian Model 2.0 government would place women at the centre of governance, declaring that it would be “a government for women” with enhanced focus on empowerment, welfare, dignity and equal opportunities.Addressing the ‘Vellum Tamil Penngal’ conference organised by the DMK’s women’s wing at Palladam in Tirupur, Stalin said women’s advancement is vital for the state’s progress. He said the Dravidian movement has historically dismantled oppressive traditions and built platforms for women’s social justice, recalling contributions of Periyar, Anna and Kalaignar Karunanidhi.
The Chief Minister said the present DMK government has already strengthened women’s financial independence through welfare schemes, including monthly financial assistance that has uplifted millions of households. These initiatives, he said, have restored dignity and boosted economic confidence among beneficiaries.
Stalin asserted that the Dravidian Model 2.0 would expand these initiatives further, reinforcing the State’s commitment to inclusive development and women-centric policy-making as Tamil Nadu moves toward its next phase of growth.
