The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) convened a significant consultative meeting of its district secretaries today at the party headquarters in Chennai under the leadership of Party General Secretary and Leader of the Opposition, Edappadi K. Palaniswami.
The gathering comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, scheduled to be held in April.
The meeting, attended by district secretaries and senior party administrators from across Tamil Nadu, including representatives from Chennai, focused on strengthening organisational structures, reviewing poll preparedness, and strategising for the upcoming electoral battle. AIADMK leaders discussed key electionārelated activities, including boothālevel mobilisation, voter outreach, and overall campaign coordination.
Party sources indicated that the discussions also included assessments of cadre engagement in constituencies and the readiness of district units to take on the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) alliance. With just a few months remaining before polls, the meeting served as a platform to align strategies and reinforce party discipline among grassroots leadership.
The meeting was announced earlier this week by the AIADMK leadership, which described it as a key step in accelerating election preparations and galvanising districtālevel organisation. All district secretaries were instructed to attend without fail, highlighting the importance the party leadership places on unified action.
