Tamil cinema veterans Radha Ravi and Ravi Maria are set to play lead roles in the upcoming political comedy film ‘Naangalum Hero Thaan’, produced by Ram Dev Pictures.
The movie, which marks the studio’s third production, is described as a political satire aimed at entertaining audiences while reflecting on contemporary social themes. The film is expected to release ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, creating buzz among fans and political cinema enthusiasts.
Directed by Ram Dev, who previously helmed Pazhagiya Naadgal and Moondraam Manithan, the film also features Kanja Karuppu, Director Perarasu, Nizhal Ravi, Pazh. Karuppaiya, Nanjil Sampath and several other supporting actors. Cinematography is handled by Karthik Nair, editing by Durgas, and art direction by Gunasekaran. The project is being co-produced in association with Kannagi Maindan Creations.
Speaking about the film, Ram Dev said, “Tamil Nadu’s political landscape is currently abuzz with speculation about who will win the next assembly elections. To reflect this, Radha Ravi and Ravi Maria come together as the leads to present a Political Comedy Darbar, which is both entertaining and socially relevant.”
He added that the search for the heroine for Ravi Maria’s role spanned not only across India but globally. The first schedule of filming has been completed, while the second schedule is set to begin in early January in Theni.
Ram Dev’s previous films, Pazhagiya Naadgal and Moondraam Manithan, received widespread acclaim online, garnering millions of views for popular dialogues shared on social media reels.
