Pudukottai, Jan 5: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has confidently predicted that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will form the government in Tamil Nadu in April 2026 following the state legislative assembly elections.Shah made this assertion while addressing a public rally in Pudukkottai, where he participated in a programme marking the conclusion of the Bharatiya Janata Partyās (BJP) campaign tour led by Tamil Nadu BJP state president Nainar Nagendran.
Addressing the crowd, Amit Shah asserted that the NDA ā an alliance of BJP and its regional partners including the AIADMK ā would win the 2026 assembly elections and form the next government in Tamil Nadu by April.
He criticised the current Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government, claiming that corruption was widespread under its rule and lamenting what he described as poor law and order and inadequate safety for women in the state.
The Home Minister also accused DMK leadership of pursuing dynastic politics, saying that efforts to elevate Udhayanidhi Stalin to the position of Chief Minister were evidence of such intentions. He urged voters to end what he described as one-family dominance in state politics.
Shah concluded his address by asserting that the AIADMKāBJP alliance was a partnership capable of defeating the DMK and that the time had come for a new government in Tamil Nadu.
