Mumbai, Jan 6: India women’s cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur has moved up two places to 13th in the latest ICC Women’s T20I batting rankings, following her match‑winning 68‑run innings against Sri Lanka in the final game of their five‑match series in Thiruvananthapuram. India completed a 5‑0 series sweep against Sri Lanka, and the knock helped Harmanpreet edge closer to the top‑10 in the global list. While Harmanpreet made gains in the batting chart, India’s all‑rounder Deepti Sharma has lost her No. 1 position in the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings. Australia’s Annabel Sutherland reclaimed the top spot with 736 rating points, just one ahead of Deepti, whose figures of 1/28 in the final match were not enough to defend her lead.
Other Indian players maintained strong positions in the rankings: Smriti Mandhana remained third among batters, and Shafali Verma continued at sixth. Meanwhile, Shree Charani advanced five places in the bowling list to 47th. The latest update reflects performances from recent international fixtures and highlights shifts in the competitive landscape of women’s T20 cricket.
