Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin reiterated that his administration is running a government of social justice that serves all people, affirming the state’s long-standing focus on equality and welfare for every section of society.

The remarks underscore the Dravidian model of governance that prioritises inclusive development and empowerment of marginalised communities.

Speaking at the launch ‘Ungal Kanava Sollunga’ scheme here,
Stalin highlighted that the state government’s policies are centred on delivering social justice through comprehensive welfare measures in education, skill development, housing, infrastructure, and targeted support for disadvantaged groups. These initiatives are designed to uplift oppressed communities, bridge socio-economic gaps, and promote dignity and equal opportunity for all citizens.

Under his leadership, the government has undertaken reforms and programmes intended to strengthen social harmony and reduce discrimination, resonating with Tamil Nadu’s historical commitment to egalitarian principles rooted in rationalist and social reform movements.

Stalin’s statement comes at a time when the state continues to roll out new welfare schemes aimed at improving quality of life across demographics, reflecting his administration’s emphasis on inclusive governance ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.

Under the pilot phase of the Ungal Kanava Sollunga scheme, approximately 1.91 crore urban and rural households across the state will be visited by 50,000 trained volunteers, primarily drawn from women’s self-help groups, who will collect feedback and dreams from families. Residents will first receive forms listing government benefits they have used, and subsequently the completed information will be verified and uploaded through a dedicated mobile application developed by the Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency. Each family will then receive a unique “Dream Card” to track the status of their submissions online.
