Mumbai, Jan 10: Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women secured a dramatic three-wicket victory over defending champions Mumbai Indians Women in the opening match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The result was decided on the last ball of the match as RCB chased down a target of 155, finishing on 157 for 7.
South African all-rounder Nadine de Klerk was the star of the show, delivering a match-winning performance with both bat and ball. She took four wickets to help restrict Mumbai to 154 for 6, and then scored an unbeaten 63 off 44 balls, including a crucial sequence of 6,4,6,4 in the final over to clinch the victory.
The thrilling finish sets an exciting tone for the WPL 2026 season as RCB begin their campaign with a stunning win in a high-pressure encounter.
