The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) has confirmed that the Union Budget for the financial year 2026–27 will be presented in Parliament on Sunday, February 1, marking a rare instance where the country’s annual financial statement will be tabled on a weekend. The decision follows a meeting by the Parliamentary Affairs panel, which finalised key dates for the upcoming Budget Session of Parliament.
According to the Parliamentary Affairs Committee, the Budget Session will officially begin with the President’s address on January 28, 2026, at a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Following the President’s speech, the Economic Survey — which reviews the state of the economy and sets the analytical backdrop for Budget discussions — is expected to be presented in Parliament on January 29.
