Dhaka, Jan 13: A 28-year-old Hindu auto-rickshaw driver, Samir Das, was brutally beaten and stabbed to death by a group of attackers on Sunday evening in Daganbhuiyan, Chittagong district. After the assault, the assailants stole his battery-operated auto-rickshaw and fled the scene, police said.The incident marks the latest attack on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh, where tensions and violence against minority communities have been rising in recent months.
Local police have launched a search operation to identify and arrest the culprits, while human rights groups have expressed concern over the escalating attacks on minority communities ahead of the national elections.
