The announcement has generated excitement among participants and spectators, with organisers finalising arrangements for crowd management and event infrastructure.
Jallikattu, which draws large crowds from across Tamil Nadu and beyond, is a hallmark of Pongal festivities and celebrated as a tribute to Tamil heritage and rural sportsmanship. Ahead of the Alanganallur competition, preparations at nearby Palamedu are also progressing rapidly, with upgraded spectator facilities and safety barricades being installed.
