Suspected Pakistani drones were spotted over the Kashmir border once again, prompting a strong response from the Indian Army, which shot them down along the sensitive Line of Control (LoC) area. The latest sightings were reported in sectors including Samba, Ramgarh and Poonch, where security forces were on high alert following recurring drone attack.
Officials said this marks the third such drone sighting in just one week, with unmanned aerial vehicles entering Indian airspace near the international boundary. The Indian Army engaged and neutralised the drones to prevent any attempts at surveillance or the dropping of contraband or arms across the border. The heightened activity has led to an increase in patrols and counter-drone operations by security forces along the border regions.
In response to the repeated incursions, the military leadership has reiterated vigilance and readiness to tackle any hostile activity. Earlier this week, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi warned Pakistan to curb drone intrusions, stressing that such actions are unacceptable and that New Delhi expects adherence to border discipline.
