The Tamil Nadu government has expressed serious concern over what it described as an adverse attitude of the Union Government, resulting in the denial of approvals and delay in financial allocations for several critical development projects. Despite Tamil Nadu achieving an 11.19 per cent economic growth rateāthe highest recorded by the State in the last 14 yearsāseveral welfare and infrastructure schemes are facing hurdles due to the Centreās actions, the Governor said. Funds approved under key schemes such as Samagra Shiksha, disaster relief assistance for cyclones, and GST compensation remain pending, forcing the State to bear the financial burden. The government warned that continued delays could severely impact development, especially at a time when States are already facing revenue losses due to GST rate rationalisation and increased reliance on cesses and surcharges by the Centre. @@@
