AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) on Thursday reiterated his party’s confidence in its political alliance strategy ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, stating that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership is strong at the Centre, the people of Tamil Nadu will usher in AIADMK rule in the state.
Speaking to reporters after hosting Union Minister Piyush Goyal for a breakfast at his residence, EPS highlighted the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance’s governance at the Centre, asserting that the alliance’s development initiatives have brought stability and progress nationally, and will now be reflected in Tamil Nadu under AIADMK leadership.
With political campaigns intensifying across the state, EPS emphasised that a combined NDA effort is crucial to challenge and replace the current DMK administration led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. He expressed confidence that the alliance’s evolving strength will translate into victory in the upcoming polls, promising that AIADMK will form the next state government.
EPS’s remarks come amid active seat–sharing discussions within the NDA and renewed political mobilisation following recent re-alignments, including the entry of AMMK leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran into the NDA fold.
The AIADMK leader also used the occasion to criticise the DMK government’s performance, asserting that the opposition alliance’s governance agenda will better address public concerns and deliver effective administration in Tamilnadu.
