Tamil cinema fans have something to look forward to as Mellisai, starring Kishore in the lead role, has officially been scheduled for a theatrical release on January 30, 2026, the makers announced this week. Directed by Dhirav, Mellisai tells the inspiring story of a middle-aged man who gets a second chance to pursue the dreams he once had as a youngster — a theme that blends emotion, ambition and life’s struggles in a relatable way. Kishore has spoken about how the narrative’s question — what if you could chase your 20s aspirations at the doorstep of your 40s? — adds depth and meaning to the film.
The film also stars Subatra Robert, known for her acclaimed performances in Pariyerum Perumal, Jai Bhim and Bommai Nayagi, alongside an ensemble including George Mariyan, Harish Uthaman, Jaswant Manikandan and Dhananya. Two singles — ‘Vaarthai Thani Thani’ and ‘Muthal Mottu’ — have already been released, adding to the buzz ahead of the premiere.
