New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the recently concluded India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA), along with previous trade pacts signed by India, will open “countless opportunities” for millions of young people across the country.Addressing cadets at the annual National Cadet Corps (NCC) PM Rally in Delhi, Mr. Modi described the historic deal with the EU as a significant milestone that can create avenues for employment, innovation, education and enterprise for Indian youth. He said the world is watching India’s young population with trust, citing their skills and cultural values as strengths.
Highlighting that India has signed FTAs with nations including Oman, New Zealand, Britain, the UAE, Australia and Mauritius, the prime minister reiterated that these agreements will help lakhs of young Indians expand into global markets, boost growth and benefit from expanded trade and investment.
The landmark India-EU trade deal — dubbed the “mother of all deals” — was sealed recently and is expected to connect India to a market of about two billion people, cutting tariffs and strengthening economic cooperation.
