Indian man charged with murder in UK

London, Jan 29: A 57-year-old Indian-origin man, Dalip Chadha, appeared in a UK court on Wednesday charged with the murder of a woman at a home in Ilford, east London. Chadha was arrested at the scene on Applegarth Drive in the early hours of Tuesday after police were called to the property around 4:00 am. Officers found a woman dead at the address. The victim has not yet been formally identified but is believed to be 58-year-old Vanessa Puntney-Chadha, reportedly Chadha’s wife. Her next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers. Chadha appeared before Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on January 28 charged with murder. The Metropolitan Police said the investigation is ongoing and appealed to the public for any information that could assist with the case.
