Asserting that the ruling DMK’s Dravidian Model government stands for “everything for all,” Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday said there was no room in the State for those indulging in communal politics. In a veiled attack on the BJP, he also expressed confidence that Dravidian Model 2.0 would retain power and form the next government in the upcoming Assembly elections.
In a social media post marking the consecration of temple towers held across Tamil Nadu on Wednesday — including the landmark 4,000th Mahakumbabishekam — the Chief Minister highlighted the achievements of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department under the DMK government.
Stalin said that since assuming office in May 2021, the DMK government has completed Mahakumbabishekam for 4,000 temples in 1,728 days of governance — a feat he described as unprecedented in the annals of Tamil Nadu’s history.
Emphasising the inclusive nature of the Dravidian Model, the Chief Minister reiterated, “There is no room for those indulging in communal politics in Tamil Nadu.”
Meanwhile,  Stalin on Tuesday said that 4,000 temple kumbabishekam (consecration) ceremonies have been conducted across the state during the 1,728 days since the DMK government assumed office.
Sharing the information, the Chief Minister said this achievement reflects the government’s continued focus on preserving temples and religious heritage under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department. He noted that such a large number of consecration ceremonies completed within a single government’s tenure is unprecedented in the state.
Highlighting key milestones, Stalin said the 1,000th kumbabishekam was held at the Kasi Viswanathar Temple in West Mambalam in 2023, the 2,000th at the Veeratteswarar Temple in Mayiladuthurai district in 2024, the 3,000th at the Agneeswarar Temple in Nagapattinam district in 2025, and the 4,000th at the Semathamman Temple in Perambur.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the Dravidian model of governance follows an inclusive approach and respects all faiths, while firmly opposing religious extremism. He added that temple renovation, maintenance, and consecration works would continue in the coming days to protect Tamil Nadu’s rich spiritual and cultural legacy.
