A 22‑year‑old woman was allegedly molested inside the premises of Nandanam Government Arts College by a restaurant employee, police confirmed late Thursday. The accused has been taken into custody as investigations continue.
According to police sources, the victim was employed at a food outlet located within the college campus when the incident occurred. The suspect, identified as Gunashekar, who also works at the same restaurant, reportedly sexually assaulted the woman on the college grounds.
Following the assault, the victim reached out to a campus security guard in distress and later approached authorities with her complaint. A case was promptly registered at the Saidapet police station, after which officers began an investigation.
Police have arrested the restaurant employee in connection with the case. Additional persons suspected to be involved in the incident are currently being identified and sought by law enforcement.
