New Delhi, Jan 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on industry leaders and experts to work towards building an Artificial Intelligence (AI) ecosystem in India that is transparent, impartial and secure, with a strong emphasis on ethical use, data security and technology democratisation. The interaction took place at his residence in Lok Kalyan Marg with CEOs and specialists from major AI firms ahead of the IndiaAI Impact Summit scheduled in February.Addressing the gathering, Modi highlighted India’s strengths in scale, diversity and democracy, saying these qualities have helped earn global trust in the country’s digital infrastructure. He underscored the importance of adopting indigenous technology across key sectors and called for intensified efforts in AI skilling and talent development to build a robust domestic ecosystem.
The meeting, attended by leaders from companies including Wipro, TCS, HCL Tech, Zoho and Jio Platforms, and experts from premier institutes like IIIT Hyderabad, IIT Madras and IIT Bombay, focused on accelerating strategic collaborations, showcasing innovations, and advancing India’s vision of “AI for All”. Modi urged participants to leverage the upcoming summit to explore opportunities and strengthen India’s position as a hub for ethical and impactful AI development.
