The auspicious Thai Poosam fete is being celebrated with deep religious fervour today across major abodes of Lord Murugan, including Tiruttani, Palani, and Tiruchendur, where special poojas and rituals were performed from the early hours of the day.
Thousands of devotees thronged the temples to offer prayers, fulfilling vows and seeking divine blessings. Elaborate special poojas and abhishekams were conducted as part of the festivities, with priests chanting hymns amid traditional temple rituals.
As part of the observance, devotees carried Kavadi and undertook processions around temple premises. The air reverberated with continuous chants of “Arohara”.
Temple authorities and district administrations made special arrangements to manage the large crowd, including enhanced security, medical facilities, drinking water supply, and queue management. Volunteers were deployed to assist pilgrims throughout the celebrations.
