Islamabad, Feb 7: At least 50 people were killed and more than 150 others were injured when a suicide bomber struck a Shiite mosque during Friday prayers on February 6, 2026, on the outskirts of Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital, police and local officials said.The explosion occurred at the Tarlai Imambargah, a Shiite place of worship in Shehzad Town, as worshippers were gathered for prayers. Videos from the site showed chaos and devastation, with victims and their families desperately searching for loved ones amid debris.
According to police, the attacker was stopped at the mosque gate by security guards before detonating the explosives, underscoring the severity of the incident.
