The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that the final electoral roll for the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections will be officially published on February 17, 2026 (Tuesday). This marks the culmination of the comprehensive Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list underway across the state. The process began with the release of an integrated draft voter list on December 19, 2025, following the door-to-door enumeration and verification of voter records. Eligible citizens were given time thereafter to submit applications for additions, corrections, or deletions to ensure accuracy.
According to officials, over 34.75 lakh applications for updating voter details — including new registrations, corrections, and removals — were received during the revision process. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) carried out extensive verification work on these applications, with approximately 90% of them already reviewed ahead of the final publication date.
Once published, the final electoral roll will be made available at District Collector offices, local corporation offices, polling stations and on the Election Commission’s official website. In addition, the ECI has begun issuing updated Elector Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) for newly enrolled voters, with cards dispatched by express post to ensure timely delivery.
This updated and final list is a crucial step in preparing for free and fair elections, ensuring all eligible voters are correctly registered ahead of polling later this year.
