The Chennai City Police have issued an advisory to couples ahead of Valentine’s Day celebrations, urging them to maintain decorum in public places across the city. Security has been tightened at popular locations including beaches, parks and malls where large gatherings are expected.
Police officials said adequate personnel have been deployed to monitor crowd movement and ensure public order. They cautioned that any indecent behaviour or actions causing public nuisance will invite strict action.
At the same time, authorities warned that no individual or group should harass or intimidate couples celebrating the occasion. The police reiterated that necessary action will be taken against those attempting to disturb peace, and appealed to the public to celebrate responsibly while respecting the law.
