Madurai meet will send DMK home, says L Murugan

Union Minister L Murugan on Saturday asserted that the upcoming public meeting in Madurai would mark the beginning of the end for the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government. After inspecting preparations for the rally, Murugan said the event would be a decisive political show of strength ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections. He expressed confidence that the gathering would energise party cadres and send a strong message to the ruling dispensation. The meeting is expected to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) also scheduled to participate. Murugan said representatives from alliance parties would attend in large numbers, reflecting unity and preparedness for the upcoming polls. He added that the rally would highlight what he described as the failures of the State government and present the NDA’s vision for Tamil Nadu. According to him, the public response and cadre enthusiasm indicate growing support for the alliance. With political activity intensifying across the State, Murugan’s remarks underline the BJP’s sharpened attack on the DMK as parties gear up for a high-stakes electoral battle in 2026.
