The buzz around Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups just got bigger. The upcoming pan-India action drama starring Yash has reportedly secured a staggering ₹63 crore distribution deal in Tamil Nadu, marking one of the biggest pre-release business deals for a non-Tamil film in the state.
The deal reflects the tremendous market confidence in Yash’s box office pull following the nationwide success of the KGF franchise. Trade circles suggest that distributors are banking heavily on the actor’s mass appeal, stylish screen presence and the film’s large-scale action narrative to draw audiences across urban and rural centres alike.
Instead of assigning the entire state to a single distributor, the makers have opted for a territory-wise release strategy. Key distribution players will handle different regions including Chennai city and major belts such as Chengalpet, Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Salem and Tirunelveli, ensuring a wide and aggressive rollout across Tamil Nadu.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic is mounted on a grand scale and is positioned as a stylised action entertainer with a unique narrative approach. The film is being prepared for a multi-language release, aiming to capitalise on Yash’s growing fan base across India.
