In a significant milestone for India’s electric mobility sector, Blue Energy Motors has unveiled the country’s first heavy-duty electric truck equipped with advanced battery swapping technology.
The launch marks a major step toward sustainable and efficient long-haul transportation in the commercial vehicle segment.
The key highlight of the truck is its fully automated battery swapping system, enabling batteries to be replaced in just five minutes. This innovation eliminates long charging waits and drastically reduces downtime, ensuring higher productivity for fleet operators operating on busy freight corridors.
The vehicle is powered by scalable Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery packs ranging from approximately 282 kWh to 423 kWh, delivering a driving range of around 200 kilometres per charge, depending on load and driving conditions. With the support of strategically placed battery swapping stations, the company aims to offer seamless operations for long-distance logistics.
Premium Comfort for Long-Haul Drivers
Apart from its advanced electric powertrain, the truck has been designed with a strong focus on driver comfort and safety. The spacious cabin is equipped with:
• Air Conditioning (AC)
• Adjustable ergonomic seats
• Sleeper berth for long-distance travel
• Advanced four-point cabin suspension system
• Payload capacity of up to 55 tonnes
The four-point suspension significantly reduces vibrations and road shocks, ensuring a smoother ride. Company officials state that drivers who experience the comfort and performance of this electric truck may find it difficult to switch back to conventional diesel trucks, especially during extended journeys.
Driving the Future of Sustainable Freight
With powerful torque output suitable for heavy cargo applications and zero tailpipe emissions, the new EV truck is positioned as a game-changer in India’s commercial transport sector. By combining rapid battery swapping, long-haul capability, and enhanced driver comfort, Blue Energy Motors aims to redefine the standards of heavy-duty transportation in the country.
