Actor Rio Raj, known for his steady rise in the Tamil film industry through consistent performances and careful script choices, has stepped into a new role — that of a producer. Fulfilling what he describes as a long-cherished dream, Rio has launched his own production banner, River Route Studios, marking a significant milestone in his cinematic journey.
Sharing his excitement, Rio expressed gratitude to his family, friends, colleagues from the film fraternity, and members of the press and media for their unwavering support. He said their encouragement and belief in him as an actor gave him the confidence to take this bold step into film production. Emphasising that River Route Studios is born out of passion, he added that he aims to back stories that deeply connect with audiences.
The production house has already announced two projects. The first film will be directed by Kathiravan, with cinematography by Sakthi Subramanian. Music for the project will be composed by Dev Prakash Regan, while Sundar will handle editing.
The second venture will be written and directed by K. Sivamuneswaran. KG Varun, known for his work as an editor in films like Joe and Aan Paavam Pollathathu, will play the lead role. Rahul KG Vignesh will serve as cinematographer, and Varun KG will oversee the editing.
With two projects lined up and a clear creative vision, Rio Raj’s transition into production signals a promising new chapter, as he seeks to shape compelling narratives both in front of and behind the camera.
