Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Wednesday urged party workers to work with full dedication even in constituencies allotted to alliance partners in the upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu.
Palaniswami chaired a closed-door meeting with district secretaries of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam at the party headquarters in Royapettah. Addressing the leaders, he stressed that cadres must actively take the party’s election promises to the people and highlight what he described as the failures of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government.
He instructed party workers to intensify outreach through door-to-door campaigns and distribute pamphlets explaining the AIADMK’s stand and its poll assurances to voters across the state.
Palaniswami also warned cadres to remain prepared for possible obstacles during the election period, alleging that DMK members might attempt to use official influence to hinder the opposition party’s campaign activities.
During the meeting, signatures were obtained from 20 MLAs to propose candidates who may contest the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections on behalf of the AIADMK.
After the district secretaries’ meeting at the party headquarters concluded, Palaniswami held separate consultations with a few district secretaries at his residence on Greenways Road in Chennai.
The meeting is seen as part of the party’s preparations to strengthen its grassroots campaign and mobilise cadre ahead of the upcoming electoral battles in the state.
