Geneva, Mar 12: Swiss police are investigating a deadly bus fire in Kerzers, west of Bern, that killed at least six people and injured five, three of them seriously. The PostBus-operated vehicle was completely engulfed in flames Tuesday evening. Reports suggest a person may have poured flammable liquid on themselves aboard the bus, though this remains unconfirmed.
The incident recalled a New Yearās Eve fire in Crans-Montana that killed 41. Swiss President Guy Parmelin expressed condolences to the victimsā families and praised rescue workers for their response.
Authorities said there are no signs of terrorism. The burned bus was removed overnight, and traffic resumed. Police continue investigating the cause, including whether the fire was deliberately set, while victim identification could take several days.
