New Delhi, Mar 23: Top Union ministers and BJP leaders have lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming India’s longest-serving head of government, with 8,931 days in public office, combining his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister (2001–2014) and as India’s Prime Minister (2014–present). Leaders highlighted his dedication, nation-first governance, and transformative impact on India’s development, welfare, and global standing.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised Modi’s continuous public service and integrity, noting that his record surpasses the previous milestone of former Sikkim CM Pawan Kumar Chamling. Singh described Modi’s journey as a testament to unwavering commitment to every citizen.
Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized Modi’s decades of ‘seva’ (service), noting that his tenure reflects efforts to empower the poor, expand infrastructure, implement welfare schemes, and enhance India’s global stature. Shah highlighted the PM’s popularity, with repeated electoral mandates as Gujarat CM and India’s PM reinforcing public trust.
BJP chief Nitin Nabin pointed to rapid progress under Modi, including digital transformation, infrastructure expansion, and initiatives like ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’. Health Minister JP Nadda credited Modi with people-centric governance, highlighting empowerment of youth, women, farmers, and marginalized communities.
