Washington,  Mar 24:

Amid escalating conflict in West Asia, fresh diplomatic efforts appear to be underway between the United States and Iran, with backchannel communications opening a possible path toward de-escalation.
According to recent developments, the administration of Donald Trump has initiated indirect contact with Iranian officials through mediators, signalling a willingness to negotiate even as military tensions remain high. These efforts come at a critical juncture in the ongoing war, which has already disrupted global energy markets and heightened geopolitical instability.
Reports indicate that the United States is not engaging Iran directly but is instead relying on intermediary nations such as Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan to convey messages between the two sides.
This form of “backchannel diplomacy” is often used when formal diplomatic ties are strained or non-existent, allowing both sides to explore potential compromises without public commitments.
Despite these developments, Iranian officials have publicly denied that any talks—direct or indirect—are taking place, highlighting the deep mistrust that continues to define relations between the two nations.
