Film director‑turned‑candidate Sundar C, contesting the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections from Madurai Central on Puthiya Needhi Katchi ticket under NDA alluance, has declared that he will never speak ill of fellow actor‑politician Vijay, despite their political competition.
Addressing reporters in Chennai, Sundar C said he and Vijay share mutual respect and affection built over many years, noting that even their families regard each other warmly. He stated he is not prepared to criticise Vijay, his party, or its candidates during the campaign, reflecting a personal stance of admiration and goodwill.
Sundar C, who has spent over three decades in the film industry and views politics as the next phase of his career, also expressed confidence in winning the Madurai Central seat.
His comments come amid heightened political activity as multiple film personalities enter electoral politics ahead of the April 23 polls.
