Chennai, Apr 18:

Chennaiyin FC recorded their first home victory of the season with a 1-0 win over Sporting Club Delhi in the Indian Super League.

The hosts made a positive start and took the lead early in the match through Farukh Choudhary, who finished a well-created chance with composure. The goal set the tone for a closely fought contest.

Chennaiyin maintained better control for most of the game, showing improved organisation in both midfield and defence. The backline remained compact and restricted Delhi’s attacking movement, limiting them to few meaningful chances.

Sporting Club Delhi attempted to respond, especially in the second half, but lacked the finishing touch in the final third. Chennaiyin, meanwhile, focused on holding their shape and managing the game efficiently.

The narrow win marks an important step for Chennaiyin after a difficult run at home and will boost the team’s confidence moving forward. They are scheduled to face Mohammedan SC on April 21 in their next fixture.
